Wednesday, June 9 was a great night for the NHT! community. Tons of friends and three fabulous S.W.A.T. Writers-in-Residence crowded into the Free Times Cafe for an evening of new poetry and prose.
We were delighted by the turn out (thanks, everyone!) and we loved having Elisabeth de Mariaffi, Angela Szczepaniak and Natalie Zine Walschots there with us.
We hope you'll all join us again soon (like, for the next HEAR/HEAR Reading Series featuring Devon Code, Colin Frizzell and Paul Vermeersch. Wednesday, August 11 is an evening we'd like to spend with you!)
To revisit the work Angela, Natalie and Elisabeth shared with us (via podcast and YouTube) check out the links below the fold ...
Catch Angela Szczepaniak reading from Unisex Love Poems here.
Elisabeth de Mariaffi shares "Jim and Nadine, Nadine and Jim" here.
We try a YouTube close-up with Natalie Zina Walschots here.
Disclaimer: pull your chair up close, folks. These words are not to be missed, but the recordings are quiet in places. Consider this a good excuse to take a break and settle in to really concentrate on the work of these talented authors. It's worth it.
For more information on the upcoming HEAR/HEAR event, check out our Facebook page. Doors to the Free Times Cafe are always open: we'll be there for 6:30, readings are scheduled to start at 7. We hope to see you there!
